Howard Lau & Mandy Ng
Based in Canada, Howard Lau and Mandy Ng have been actively investing in real estate for more than 10 years. Their foray into real estate started with buying and managing single family properties in their local market which eventually led to investing in properties in the US and Asia.
With a disciplined approach to investing, they have been able to grow their portfolio by investing in properties that generate healthy returns. Over the last decade, Howard and Mandy has amassed an international portfolio with properties in Canada, US, China and China Hong Kong. Currently, they are focusing on growing their portfolio of multi-family properties.
Hay2Brick has a cyclical approach to investing in commercial multi-family apartments. The company’s vision is to seek out opportunities to purchase multi-family properties in emerging markets across the United States and Canada where returns are the highest. We purchase multi-family properties with the strategy to create value and maximize the returns to our investors.
HOW WE DO IT
First, our team starts off by completing a comprehensive market analysis to ensure the property is located in the “right market.” To establish this, our team conducts a thorough research into the market’s macro environment by analyzing a number of factors such as the market’s economic and housing situation.
Once a market has been identified, the acquisition process begins. We work heavily with our local contacts to seek out opportunities for suitable multi-family properties that meet our investment strategy. With each market we invest in, we develop and grow relationships with the “local” players to ensure we have the most suitable team for our properties.
After successfully acquiring the properties, Hay2Brick acts as the active asset manager and general partner of each multi-family property. Hay2Brick is intricately involved in all aspects of the management of the property and all key decisions for the property through the duration of the investment to ensure investor capital is protected and returns are maximized.
Hay2Brick ensures that all of our decisions are made with the goal of maximizing returns and minimizing risks at the same time. We will have an exit strategy in place that will create a win-win situation for all parties.
OUR INVESTMENT STRATEGY
Hay2Brick looks for several of the following components to be included in the purchase criteria when evaluating an investment property:
1. Opportunity to add value or identify a property that is already generating cash flow.
2. An immediate potential forincreasing rents to market rate.
3. Allow our management team toincrease occupancy and improve operations which will also improve income.
4. Purchase properties with low occupancy where the company canreposition the units and increase the occupancy rate.
